Hot Glass and Metal Demonstrations We will be having several demonstrations during the Grand Haven Art Fair. Come see how to make glass beads, solder sterling silver, and torch fire silver clay. This is hot! Saturday June 28 & Sunday June 29 Saturday's schedule: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Wire Soldering Sterling Silver Chain - We will demonstrate how to use a butane torch and silver wire solder to link sterling silver rings into a chain. 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Torch Firing Art Clay Silver® - Come see how easy it is to torch fire silver clay pieces using a butane torch. 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Glass Bead-making - If you've wondered how those glass rods we have become beads, you won't want to miss this demonstration. We'll be using a hot head torch for this one. This is reminiscent of the Africian Sand-cast glass beads. Friday July 11, 6-9 p.m. BYOB & Project-of-the-Month Picture This Using your own images and a combination of other found objects, beads and charms we will create a pin or pendant. The frame holding the image can be made from a found object such as a bottle cap or a ready made part for this use. The images could be photo-copies of your own photos, free clip art, cut-out magazine pages etc. Images printed onto fabric transfer sheets give the look of a mini canvas. Tuesday July 15, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or Friday July 18, 6-9 p.m. Please sign-up at least 3 days in advance for the project. If you aren't interested in the project you are still welcome to bring your own UFO's (unfinished objects) to work on. Silver Clay Project-of-the-Month Silver Donut or Bead You will use Art Clay Silver™ paste to coat a bisque clay donut or bead.
